About Green Rascal

Weston and Mackenzie, a third-generation farming family, focused on growing and producing the most premium green foods. Back in mid-2017, when their firstborn was able to eat softer foods - green veggies like kale and spinach were hard to come by in a suitable baby form. But like all problems in life, the solution often happens to be hiding in plain sight from the get-go. They realized the greens they grew on their farm and their ability to preserve and concentrate them naturally was perfect for feeding our little ones. And so they did. 

Nutrient-Rich green veggies are field-grown on their family farm. Upon harvest, they use gentle dehydration to remove most of the water. Greens are then ground to an ultra-fine level at their boutique milling facility. Dehydration and fine grinding make veggies far easier to conceal and blend in milk, juice, or smoothies. 

That inspired them to create Green Rascal as an easy, safe, and convenient way for parents to get more whole food veggies into their kids' diet. 

Challenges 

Green Rascal came to VT labs with a design but needed help creating a Shopify store from scratch and customizing it to convey their mission; Green Rascal aims to make kids healthier by getting more whole food veggies into theirs' diet.

Methodology

We used Jira and Bitbucket to manage project tasks between the developer teams so that the client could see the development process, track the progress, and test the completed features.
